Inspiring, informative, educational。。。 I began each day following along with this book for the past 40 days and truly learned a lot about myself, my OIs (as Mastin would call them), and how to realign my life and get my goals/priorities in order。 Definitely one of those books where you get out of it what you put in - really taking the time to answer all the journal prompts, digest the material, and put into action his suggestions made a world of difference。 I can see myself coming back to this t Inspiring, informative, educational。。。 I began each day following along with this book for the past 40 days and truly learned a lot about myself, my OIs (as Mastin would call them), and how to realign my life and get my goals/priorities in order。 Definitely one of those books where you get out of it what you put in - really taking the time to answer all the journal prompts, digest the material, and put into action his suggestions made a world of difference。 I can see myself coming back to this time and time again。 。。。more

First time I'm writing a review before finishing the book。 I'm at Day 12 now。 I'll probably edit when I finished it。 The exercises are great。 Some real gold there。 But come on, Mastin, stop insinuating。 It's so irritating。 The constant assumptions of "You were messed up and now you're here to fix that" are so incredibly irritating。 I came to the book wanting to learn a bit more and move more in the direction of a well phrased purpose。 Not at rock bottom, just wanting to explore my life through t First time I'm writing a review before finishing the book。 I'm at Day 12 now。 I'll probably edit when I finished it。 The exercises are great。 Some real gold there。 But come on, Mastin, stop insinuating。 It's so irritating。 The constant assumptions of "You were messed up and now you're here to fix that" are so incredibly irritating。 I came to the book wanting to learn a bit more and move more in the direction of a well phrased purpose。 Not at rock bottom, just wanting to explore my life through the exercises。Also stop mentioning that you helped 1000s of clients every couple of pages like we're a bunch of monkeys that would forget and not take you serious anymore。 And I won't even go into the fact that I'm not religious and this book definitely is made up to be, even though he starts with "Don't get carried away because of one word (God)", you'd think he'd keep it at least a bit neutral, but nope nope nope。 In general, the tone of the book is what breaks it for me。The exercises are awesome。 。。。more

Mostly recycled ideas, so nothing really new here for me。 Not as much name-dropping as his last book (which is good), but still a lot of references to having "thousands of clients" and cocaine。 Mentioning these things would be fine if the book had more substance overall。 Mostly recycled ideas, so nothing really new here for me。 Not as much name-dropping as his last book (which is good), but still a lot of references to having "thousands of clients" and cocaine。 Mentioning these things would be fine if the book had more substance overall。 。。。more

Once you see the comment regarding Mastin always talking about cocaine or his 1000s of clients, the message sours。My other issue with this book is that he writes like a spiritual writer with absolutely no substance。 It's impossible to talk about god but one who is impersonal。 An impersonal and generic god is not a source of motivation but of lukewarmness。 Once you see the comment regarding Mastin always talking about cocaine or his 1000s of clients, the message sours。My other issue with this book is that he writes like a spiritual writer with absolutely no substance。 It's impossible to talk about god but one who is impersonal。 An impersonal and generic god is not a source of motivation but of lukewarmness。 。。。more

This book delivered for me。 I had aha after aha。 So many great journaling questions, quotes, affirmations and daily prayers。 I was ready to do a deep, committed dive into this and came away with insights that have already led to behavioral changes。 I would have found it less helpful had I not read his memoir, The Daily Love。 I need to know how people have come to their insights。 He shared some in this book, and I can see why he wouldn't tell the story again, but if anyone needs that also, read t This book delivered for me。 I had aha after aha。 So many great journaling questions, quotes, affirmations and daily prayers。 I was ready to do a deep, committed dive into this and came away with insights that have already led to behavioral changes。 I would have found it less helpful had I not read his memoir, The Daily Love。 I need to know how people have come to their insights。 He shared some in this book, and I can see why he wouldn't tell the story again, but if anyone needs that also, read that book first or alongside, as I did。 。。。more

This would be a good starter book for someone who is at rock bottom or very early in their self discovery journey。 The first 1/4 - half of the book had me very hopeful。 Definitely explored some topics in my brain I hadn't thought about in a long time and I was genuinely surprised they came to the forefront from the prompts。 I had to discipline myself not to just skip ahead and read the rest。 If nothing else, it got me into journaling for 30+ days which was a habit I had separately been trying to This would be a good starter book for someone who is at rock bottom or very early in their self discovery journey。 The first 1/4 - half of the book had me very hopeful。 Definitely explored some topics in my brain I hadn't thought about in a long time and I was genuinely surprised they came to the forefront from the prompts。 I had to discipline myself not to just skip ahead and read the rest。 If nothing else, it got me into journaling for 30+ days which was a habit I had separately been trying to build for years。 I caved and read through the last 4 days in one sitting。 I find Mastin's IG and live talks to be more engaging and I think it's cool he has multiple platforms for this book/process。 Definitely unique。 I hope he keeps going & growing!2。5 ⭐⭐ 。。。more

Didn't quite make it to the end of this one (decided to call it done after 32 days), and it's hard for me to put down a book without finishing, but I feel like after the first section, I wasn't getting much out of it。 Didn't quite make it to the end of this one (decided to call it done after 32 days), and it's hard for me to put down a book without finishing, but I feel like after the first section, I wasn't getting much out of it。 。。。more

It took me 3 months to finish this book which is a long time for me。 What I liked: goal setting, step by step instructions, the exercises and journaling。 There are lots of truths to book, like following your feelings and what the Creator wants for you in this lifetime。 What I didn't like: this book is for people who are "dead", yes he uses this word many times, he's a bit dramatic with his words。 Perhaps he can be more "Impeccable with his Word。" This book is aimed at people who are unhappy with It took me 3 months to finish this book which is a long time for me。 What I liked: goal setting, step by step instructions, the exercises and journaling。 There are lots of truths to book, like following your feelings and what the Creator wants for you in this lifetime。 What I didn't like: this book is for people who are "dead", yes he uses this word many times, he's a bit dramatic with his words。 Perhaps he can be more "Impeccable with his Word。" This book is aimed at people who are unhappy with their lives。 I have been working on myself for many years so my life rates at 8 and above for all life categories (you can rate them in the book) so in this way the book did not speak to me。 This book is very coachy if you like that。 His mentor is Tony Robbins who I am not a big fan of。 Also I tend to dislike ego-filled declarations like "I have had thousands of clients。" which he mentions several times in the book。 Yeah we know Kipp, you are famous amazing coach。 。。。more

This is going to be difficult to get through。 I'm listening on audio and now I want to go get a physical copy of the book so I can refer back to it。 It's hard for me to not get distracted when reading non-fiction so I can only read it a little at a time, but IMO, this is not an audio-type book。 It has you journaling, reflecting, thinking and creating lists, etc。 Hard to do when you are driving a car or doing house work。 However, the books' focus is worthy and could be a good tool for self awaren This is going to be difficult to get through。 I'm listening on audio and now I want to go get a physical copy of the book so I can refer back to it。 It's hard for me to not get distracted when reading non-fiction so I can only read it a little at a time, but IMO, this is not an audio-type book。 It has you journaling, reflecting, thinking and creating lists, etc。 Hard to do when you are driving a car or doing house work。 However, the books' focus is worthy and could be a good tool for self awareness/improvement。 。。。more

Listened to the audiobook which offers a bit of additional author commentary。 Maston Kipp claims this is a 40-day process to find purpose in your life。 Honestly, having read (or listened to) many similar books, I have to say this book is not great for its supposed intended purpose。 It’s much less about developing organization and purpose in your life and much more a general “how to be better。” It’s largely just a coached journaling method, but the basis is highly misguided and based on working t Listened to the audiobook which offers a bit of additional author commentary。 Maston Kipp claims this is a 40-day process to find purpose in your life。 Honestly, having read (or listened to) many similar books, I have to say this book is not great for its supposed intended purpose。 It’s much less about developing organization and purpose in your life and much more a general “how to be better。” It’s largely just a coached journaling method, but the basis is highly misguided and based on working through “past trauma” and acknowledging a higher power through which to draw strength and self-love to share outwardly with others。 Maston makes the higher power or creator a major focal point of his lessons, which does nothing for the less religious as there are many creator-oriented meditations and mantras。 Maston’s message isn’t necessarily bad, it’s just a combination of rehashed ideas designed to be simply digested and built upon each day。 I lasted about ten days before the sluggish pace of the process and the overbearing integration of a “higher power” that must be recognized in the mediations and journaling became too much。 I ran through the rest of it in chunks at a time。 I almost didn’t complete it, but decided I had invested enough time to finish it up on my commute。 I didn’t find it any more useful or groundbreaking than other, more entertaining books on the market。 It seemed as though it would be a well organized process, but there’s so much extraneous detail that it ends to feeling a bit haphazard。Not a fan。 。。。more

Claim Your Power, though well written and thought out, was not a very exciting read。 I believe Kipp did a good job hitting all the points, in order, of how to "find your purpose," but it was hard for me to stay engaged。 At the start, I was writing along when the book told me to, like writing my best feelings, worst feelings, uncomfortable moments, etc。 By the time I got halfway through, I was ready to finish the book。 I do think this book could be helpful to people who have lost focus on their l Claim Your Power, though well written and thought out, was not a very exciting read。 I believe Kipp did a good job hitting all the points, in order, of how to "find your purpose," but it was hard for me to stay engaged。 At the start, I was writing along when the book told me to, like writing my best feelings, worst feelings, uncomfortable moments, etc。 By the time I got halfway through, I was ready to finish the book。 I do think this book could be helpful to people who have lost focus on their life and future, but a lot of what Kipp wasn't really new to me。 It was also a lot about Kipp's struggle with drug addiction, which I know he uses as inspiration, but that is not something I can relate to, and in a motivational book I want to relate to everything I am reading。 Regardless, I do think there is some useful information in Kipp's writing, I just believe it is a very average self-help book。 。。。more
